Our Approach

We want you to feel connected and empowered

When it comes to therapy, our approach is simple, we take a client-centered approach to therapy, and believe that therapy isn't a one size fits all kind of thing. We are not an expert on you, YOU are the expert of yourself. We believe it is our job is to walk alongside you and help you feel empowered and resilient. We have done extensive work with clients in crisis situations. We understand that during times of high emotions it is so easy to see all the problems, all the things we wish we could change, and all the negative aspects of that situation. We try to shift the focus from the problems to the solutions. Solution Focused Therapy techniques are perfect for helping people focus on the future, by looking at ways to build upon coping skills you have already done, to look at where you want to be instead of where you've been, and to keep a positive outlook.

We also believe that we spend a lot of time thinking, constantly thinking, and when it comes to our thoughts, we focus on ourselves in a negative light. We often tell ourselves things that have no evidence to back them up, and sometimes we don't know where to begin to change those thoughts. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Techniques help change some of those negative thought patterns and learn how we are using our thoughts to shape the way we feel and the way we behave.

We also LOVE parts work here. Internal Family Systems is a wonderful tool to help you realize that you are not an anxious person, but that are a part of you is anxious. We can help you realize that there are no bad parts, just parts that are coming out when you don't want them to.

We also believe that wellness is something that affects our entire body. We are constantly utilizing holistic methods by looking at the body as a whole and finding things that might not be traditional to help. We often utilize things such as gemstones, nature, meditation, and give all of our clients resources for things to help them daily such as Mindfulness techniques, body scanning, and grounding methods.

Emotional Wellness

Do you find it hard to complete tasks? Is there something missing from your life? Emotional Wellness can be affected by a lot of different things. Sometimes we just struggle to sit with our feelings, and other times we don’t know where to start to even accept why we feel the way we do.
Depression, Anxiety, Postpartum issues, Relationship Struggles, Domestic Violence, Trauma, Sexual Assault, even Politics, Global Crisis, and sometimes just everyday living can really start to play a role in our mental health.
Let’s work together to process feelings, to help you feel empowered to take back your emotions and your life so that you can be the best possible version of yourself.

Spiritual Wellness

Being well with yourself is so much more than religion, it’s a spiritual process. I believe that we are supposed to have passion. A fire that burns within us to do more for ourselves, for our family, for our community and often that is the first thing that we let go when things get rough. It is often challenging to find time to meditate, to pray, to be creative, especially in a world where we work, where we take care of our kids, or families.
I believe in using holistic methods to help learn a balance when it comes to finding time for ourselves. I believe that being in nature, doing things that not only benefit us but emotionally connect us to the world is something we can all have. I think being spiritually well means finding yourself again, finding goals, and hopes and dreams and learning to grab life when you can. This is something that we can focus on, we can meet and talk and process so that you can move forward and begin to heal, feel empowered, feel joy and most of all find the PEACE you deserve.

Social Wellness

With things being stressful in the world right now, is it often normal to feel alone and isolated. It is a well-known fact that we are social creatures at heart, sometimes that might mean with only certain people, family, or even animals at times. We need to be able to connect to others to feel like we aren’t alone in this world. Social Wellness is huge and sometimes we find ourselves turning down social events, things we know we would probably enjoy, but anxiety takes over and we just can’t make ourselves go. There are times when we feel down, worried, stressed, and just need an outlet to visit with someone, anyone, that can help us navigate through that path.

Together we can work on how to improve social aspects of your life. Let's get to a place where we process, engage, talk, laugh, cry, cuss, scream if you need to, so that you can learn to connect with others instead of letting your emotions control you.

Physical Wellness

Do you often feel tired, unmotivated, and even uninterested in the things that once brought you joy? Our Physical health is so much more than just exercise and eating well. Sometimes the best thing to make us feel better is working on other aspects of our health. Sometimes it is focusing on how to incorporate mindfulness into our daily routine.

Together we can start to come up with goals, with focus on how to incorporate the things that you once loved back into your life. We can work on a plan to overcome the fatigue, to push through the stressors and to make it where you feel like YOU again.
